Artist: Monica Liaw
Materials: Windscreen wiper, tennis strings, screws, yoghurt spoons, cardboard, sheet music, straws, chopsticks.
Concept:To recreate a musical instrument using predominantly ‘musical junk’, as I like to conjoin music with art. It’s made of used anddisposable materials.

Artist: Fung Yee Ngai
Materials: plastic bottles, bottle’s top, glue, fishing line.
Concept:The main focus of my work is the egg-shaped model since I want to express the message of giving a second life to recycled materials. The top part of the bottles made this “egg” look like it is about to “explode” and the used materials’ second life is emerging out of it.

Artist: Jun Wang
Materials: Old Wooden Frame, Rope/Cord, Paper Pulp Filling and Paint.
Concept:In the post-industrial era, pure land in people’s minds is fading away, and we may even lose our Utopia eventually. The environment is really fragile, and human’s desire for natural life is even more fragile. How could we recover the Utopia? This is the main issue that people in the post-industrial era is facing, and is also the goal that I am trying to find.

Artist: Weslee Tsuei
Materials: Newspaper, facial tissue box cutouts, reused buttons, fallen leaves and branches, plastic bag cutouts, toilet paper rolls, shampoo and detergent bottles.
Concept:To create a tree out of recycled materials because I wanted to show that if we had reused and recycled our waste (such as paper waste) from our everyday lives, we would be able to plant a new tree, helping to save and improve our living environment. I included other varieties of recycled materials to help enhance the structure and create more details of texture, a well as making the overall piece of work more colourful and lively.
